Barrel length is just a myth. Didn't Robert Churchill show up at a pigeon shoot with a 25" gun because it had been damaged and had to be cut off.

Showing up means nothing. We are all entitled to mistakes.

Show me where 25-26" guns dominated pigeon shoots. Then, I will listen..
