Now there was another Scale for the larger bores..... Here is Scale 3 being the British Express Scales from 1904 and seeing that the Germans didn't devise much regarding proof, but rather just copied from other gunmaking centres w/ Proof Law, I would hazard a guess that the Germans adopted this along the way as the >>Express Proof<< of tubes was a time varying effort. I would expect the same from the Belgians as they just adopted the German Modell to keep their toast buttered...... Hochachtungsvoll, Raimey rse

Now, the 1st German Table I have viewed is noted as having 5(Five) Re-Enforced Proof Loads knows as >>Express<< Loads for >>Express Rifled Barrels<<. Contained herein:
Gauge - 51.05 Bore Diameter - 0.449" - 1st Proof Load 361.1 Grains of Powder with 574.1 Grain Bullet - German Table
Bore Diameter - 0.450' - Powder T.P. - 212 Grains & Bullet weight of 706 Grains(Blanket across many) - British Scale
But this many not be comparing Apples to Apples across Time.
A later German Table that adds 0.360" to the German Express Table:
Bore - 99.7 - Bore Diameter - 9,14mm(0.360") - 9,75 Grammes Powder - 11.2 Gramme Bullet - German Table
Bore Diameter - 0.360" - 100 Grains T.P. Powder & 247 Grain Bullet - British Scale 3 - 1904
Now the British Scale gives a blanket effort from 0.310" to 0.360"
So, Maybe the Germans didn't exactly copy the Brits, I don't know.....

Well, it turns out the German „Express“ Rifle Proof Tables were based on the 1887 British Scales. So, I must find them in order to get to the bottom of this „Express“ sandpile; lots of sand in this sand-trap......

![[Linked Image from thumbs2.imgbox.com]](https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/22/9d/9bMLJmu9_t.jpg) British Scale No. 2 for Proof of Express Rifles - 1887 ![[Linked Image from thumbs2.imgbox.com]](https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/09/58/RqOQ4aMg_t.jpg) German Version. So for 577 >>Express<< that is 801 grains vs 800 grains in Scale Nr. 2; Equal or Parejo. For 500 >>Express<< 586 grains vs 587 grains in Scale No. 2, again Parejo. Indeed a Copy.....
