The “stops” on the outside of the lock plate seem stationary. I don’t see any bright spots where they have moved if they act in an internal firing pin mechanism.
That was such an interesting time in the world of gunmakers, that undecided time when they were trying every new idea to see what sticks. I’d love to know if those guns self cock and the hammers are simply cocking indicators or if the hammers are the actual cocking mechanism for an internal firing pin. And the stops on the outside need explanation for either scenario.
