After much anticipation, I was finally able to hold it in my hands… now comes the decision… do I really need another left hand stocked, right hand action?

You only live once.

As one lefty to another, "yes. You'll kick yourself later if you don't."

Not just no, but hell no!

As I sit here in my right handed body, I imagine myself trying to shoot a true left hand bolt action rifle that was stocked for a right handed shooter. First shot, no problem. But for a hunting rifle where I may need a quick follow-up shot, it would be an abomination to have to push the gun away from my shoulder to awkwardly manipulate the bolt which is on the wrong side. It would be just as bad to push the gun away from my shoulder and take my left hand off of the forearm to operate the left hand bolt.

That might be barely acceptable if this was a varmint rifle firing mostly single shots, but it's a .270 Win. It would be annoying enough shooting it off a bench, but any normal hunting position would be much worse. And what would Jack O'Conner say about a .270 Winchester Model 70 that had to be handled like a juggler or a majorette twirling a baton?

Whoever commissioned this rifle probably soon realized it was a mistake, and that he should have saved his money for a true left hand bolt rifle, or maybe a nice single shot stocked with left hand cast. I'd have no regrets about not buying a rifle that was impractical to use, mostly sat in my safe, and had a lesser resale value because of its' impracticality.
