CB, I happen to agree with many issues in Trump's mandate: we have to control our borders; our allies should pay more for their defense; the US should be less dependent on other nations and more self-sufficient;ect;ect. The trouble is he believes with all his being that the end justifies the means. He is determined to force the world to conform to his wishes. He is isolating America and turning it into a pariah state. That may well please many here, but it scares rational people everywhere who believed since forever that they could count on us. Take Greenland for instance. Trump wants to mine there, but for some reason Greenlanders aren't enthusiastic. How could they be when his opening gambit was a threat to seize the place by force? His biggest accomplishment is his ICE campaign, a reign of terror whose tactics make us look like Chili under Pinochet.

In both those instances the US did it's level best to stay out of those giant conflicts.
The Western world has become dependent on.....counts on the US because the Western world became a welfare recipient of America's largess and moral guidance since 1945. And now, like a typical welfare recipient, they have come to view that largess as their due and are outraged when it may not be forthcoming.
Trump is simply re-ordering things to a more balanced relationship. Pariah state? Don't make me laugh. Your hyperbole undermines any effort at credibility.
FYI there are plenty of Greenlanders who are enthusiastic about America's potential involvement there as they are a bit sick of being both ruled by and looked down on by the Danes. The ICE reign of terror is nailing criminals. Good for ICE. BTW, of the 3000 plus counties in the USA, only about 8 count for the vast majority of violent ICE actions and violent anti ICE protests. Hmmmm.......wonder what is going on in those 8 counties that isn't happening in the other 2992 counties.
