I have fine memories of seeing Gregg Allman play in Macon...Rock N Rolling royalty on his home turf, great stuff! I would like to visit the Big House Museum some day.

Let's just say I've been through that state about 100 times in the past 8 years and I dredded it every time.

Let's just put it this way. In Northern Florida and Baldwin County and eastern Alabama, Macon rhymes with Bacon.

And I was at the Atlanta pop Festival outside of Macon (Byron) in July 1970, first big one after Woodstock, and heard Jimmy Hendrix play "Star Spangled Banner" at Midnight on the 4th of July. . . The Allman Brothers were still a back-up band.

I drove over from Tuscaloosa in a Volkswagen van. It had a .357 magnum under the seat and no flowers on the door. The MaryJane smoke was heavy but there is no such thing as a secondary contact high and I had to take a polygraph on that.

And Jimmy you didn't have to drive down 301 before I-95 was built and pass through the most notorious speed trap on the east coast in Ludowici, Georgia.

No Easter miracle for the Wings. Penalties and a brutal second period did them in.

Thought about walking across the street to watch the Tigers but it’s a little chilly and the wind is blowing pretty good.

8 pounds of glorious pig went round and round on the Weber charcoal rotisserie for 2 1/2 hours, as my friend Ron and I drank Modelo and Pabst on the deck, on a cool, but not cold, and sunny Easter Sunday. Maria outdid herself in the kitchen, wearing size 5 jeans and a nice sweater. The US claimed it’s missing airman, the New York Times got schooled on what NATO actually stands for, the US return to the moon is going swimmingly, and the dog, at age 13 found the resident rooster in the open spaces area on our morning walk at daybreak. The service at church was packed, and the message was one for the ages.

Some days, the blessings are overwhelming. He is risen.

Best,

Ted
