Let's just put it this way. In Northern Florida and Baldwin County and eastern Alabama, Macon rhymes with Bacon.
And I was at the Atlanta pop Festival outside of Macon (Byron) in July 1970, first big one after Woodstock, and heard Jimmy Hendrix play "Star Spangled Banner" at Midnight on the 4th of July. . . The Allman Brothers were still a back-up band.
I drove over from Tuscaloosa in a Volkswagen van. It had a .357 magnum under the seat and no flowers on the door. The MaryJane smoke was heavy but there is no such thing as a secondary contact high and I had to take a polygraph on that.
And Jimmy you didn't have to drive down 301 before I-95 was built and pass through the most notorious speed trap on the east coast in Ludowici, Georgia.
