I noticed KY John has not posted here since November. I sent him a private message yesterday and got no response. Has anyone heard from him?

Ex Maryland NSSA skeet shooter and volume gun buyer. I miss him and can't wait for him to reappear. Reputed to have thrown a problem Ponsness Warren reloader off the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. I hope my facts are straight.

Jon is an old friend of mine here. I haven't heard from him lately either. I also hope we hear from him soon.
May God bless America and those who defend her.

I am still alive, so far. Where have I been? Retired twice. Seen more doctors than a hooker, at a medical convention. My wife is a doctor and hates when I say that. Rehab a shoulder and back issue. Bought another house, to be near my middle son and his family. Also middle son is about to have a daughter, second child for him, first grand daughter for me. Wife took another job at a children's hospital, as a department head. Moved and been busy working on the old house, doing a complete remodel, in a house that we are living in, with a wife who can not quite make up her mind, too often to suit. Youngest son finished his Phd., got married and is back in medical school with two years to go until he is done with his medical degree. Just finished dealing with my late mother in laws estate, cleaning out a house, selling everything, including the house and trying to make four heirs all feel "special". Gag me.
Buried my college roommate, life long best friend and lamented a life lost to too many bad decisions, his decisions, but most of all alcohol. Alcohol is a curse and I have come to believe there is a genetic problem for some with it. It destroyed his grandfather, both of his parents, four and his siblings and Howard. Funny thing is, to outsiders, each of them was a highly successful person. They had wealth at one time that was almost imaginable. His mother was driven to school in a Cadillac, by chauffeur. His grandfather owned a company that today is worth multiple billions. But alcohol destroyed marriages, ruined careers, destroyed businesses and shorten their lives by decades. Ten years ago I did a intervention for Howard. Wont go into detail here, but I thought he had made the turn and was sober for two years. Then back he went to drinking and ... We lost him.
In short I feel like I have been busy as a one armed paper hanger. I have been too busy to suit but not doing anything I wanted to do. I received two dozen plus guns from a Holt's auction and did nothing more than stick them into the gun room. Did not even log them into my records yet. Have not shot a gun in months. Just bought a couple 1911's and hoping to shoot them soon and get use to them as my carry weapon of choice. Thinking about selling my Spolar re-loaders since I have not loaded a shell in more than two years. Last count I had about 80-90 flats of ammo loaded so ought to be good for a while. I still have a full set of MEC 9000 hydraulics loaders if I decide to load anything special. I have checked back a couple times over the last few months but had nothing to add to the board. Hope everyone is well. I miss many board members who have passed and think about them often. We have lost an all star group of people from this board but many younger one seem to be picking up the slack. Take care to all. Jon---No H. Parents could not afford a H.

Great to hear from you, Jon. It would be an understatement to say you’ve been busy. I hope the business fades and you get more time for what you enjoy.

Good to hear you're still kicking KY Jon.
I attempted to bring up the fact that both you and jOe had been absent since late November over a month ago in the Thread about Larry Brown's illness. But that entire Thread got deleted.

I’m glad this “manhunt” thread was successful and that Jon is alright even though grieved and clearly overloaded. I’ve just written him which prompts me to say that one day some years ago I had PM from him. He and I had never had any contact and I didn’t know anything about him except through his postings. All it said was, “Send me your mailing address.” My first thought was “thanks but no thanks” but after thinking about it overnight I sent it. And then waited and wondered. A week or two later a box arrived. Inside were two big bags of 16ga wads, one being the then rare DR16’s. Suddenly, it all made sense. There had been a discussion here about the difficulties we hand loaders were having keeping our antique 16’s going when DR16’s hadn’t been available for years and speculation was that they never would be again. (Fortunately, we got one more good run of them before Downrange turned out the lights.) Jon read between the lines that my Ithacas (all 16’s) were soon to go silent and did something about it.
I thanked him for them and asked him for his mailing address (so I could pay him for the wads and the shipping.) He wouldn’t send it.
Good guy and a good reflection of the gents here.

Glad to hear you are doing fine. I still have to chuckle when I think of the first time I tapped on that note that says your location is: "Red State". When I click on it, I get that RED STATE BARBECUE restaurant down in Lexington I used to pass on I-75 all the time. 😄 And the first time I saw that, I wondered if you ran that restaurant. I believe 67 Galaxie runs a restaurant in Valdosta, Georgia. I never got a chance to stop there. But anyway, glad to hear you are up and around. Take care and good luck.
