Years ago I thought of having my guns insured and thought better of it. I didn't wanted so many people in the entire insurance company to know I was a gun owner. And since I will never ship a gun, I don't see any reason why I should have insurance. But, good luck to those who do and need to have it.

Has anyone had actual experience with a covered loss? There are a lot of insurance sellers out there-but .......

All the insurance companies are your best friends when the money is flowing in their direction.

The proof is when you have to make a claim.

I have had one claim with my insurance company and they paid fast and well.

For: reference:

These two are for paying are the worst

USPS
UPS.

I was not aware of that.

Our gun insurance is with Gallagher Risk Management and it covers our firearms during shipment and while they are at a gunsmith. One of my wife's guns is at the gunsmith now and it is covered by our insurance. I would never trust a gunsmith to have insurance that covered my guns - they should but that doesn't mean they do.

Our policy covers $45,000 of unscheduled guns (all of ours are valued at less than $10,000 individually) for a $150 annual premium.

Same insurance that I have. I've used them for over 10 years
Never had an issue (Never had a claim either).

My yearly cost has not gone up either.

I've been happy with them

Stay well my friends

Greg

I can not speak about other companies only my own.

If I drop the gun and the stock breaks it covered
If the bbl blows up its, its covered.

Includes shipping risks

So basically it covers all risks.

My main insurance issues concern theft or fire, rather than shipping or gun blow ups. Luckily, I haven't had any losses but have coverage spread with three carriers, homeowner's and two specialty companies. Hope I never need them. While I understand the concerns with USPS, UPS, and coverage while in the care of gunsmiths-my main worry is fire or theft.

Do the individual guns have to be listed by serial number, etc?

I have a blanket amount of coverage. I only have to list guns and serial numbers on guns over 10K.

With Gallagher Risk Management only guns with a value of $10,000 or more must be listed by serial number.

Because none of our guns are valued at $10,000 they have no idea what we own, just an overall policy limit of $45,000.
