I'd be interested in hearing current experience with collectors' insurance, carriers to trust, costs involved. etc. Thanks.

I use Core - Vens Insurance. I especially like the idea of being covered if I ship a gun.

I would assume that about all insurers that specialize in gun insurance cover guns while being shipped. Am I correct?

One thing, if you take a gun to your gunsmith for repairs your insurance is not in effect. In other words it's on him to cover the cost of your gun if say there is a fire or theft. I was not aware of that.

I was not aware of that. Our gun insurance is with Gallagher Risk Management and it covers our firearms during shipment and while they are at a gunsmith. One of my wife's guns is at the gunsmith now and it is covered by our insurance. I would never trust a gunsmith to have insurance that covered my guns - they should but that doesn't mean they do. Our policy covers $45,000 of unscheduled guns (all of ours are valued at less than $10,000 individually) for a $150 annual premium.

Bob, is that $45K per gun or total maximum claim?
May God bless America and those who defend her.

I am sure that means total coverage.
Note that he says that all of our guns are valued less that 10,000 individually.

Bob, is that $45K per gun or total maximum claim? Stan, that is the total coverage. If an individual gun is worth $10K or more you must schedule it with the insurance company. You can contact Laura Sewall at 800-545-9326 and she can give you a quote for the guns you own.

I use Guns and Trophy. Good Guys. Professional and easy to work with. If you go to their website you can find the answers to many of your questions and some you may not have thought of. They are hunters and shooters and understand guns.
