The roads in that forest are pretty good, well maintained, culverts that keep them from washing out, mostly. But, a couple of quick inches of snow followed by very cold temps (the cold is always behind the storm) can make the place treacherous. I’ve never needed them, but, there is a milk crate in the bed of my truck that has a collection of logging chains. I’ll bet it weighs 100 lbs, but, it is better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them.

Same as the skunk kit.

People get in over their heads from time to time. At night, once you are wet, and it is cold, it is pretty much over. Nobody is coming. Not until you are missing for a few days.

Best,
Ted
