Note the notches in the ends of the dogs.....

I was fortunate to pick up a Josef Winkler in Ferlach Austria 2 barrel set in 12bore/70mm from Cabelas(a bit of a debacle to get thru 3 checks in the store to get out...) Right trigger is a bit stout & the ejector is a little weak.

1953 Set

Interesting enough that post WWII the preliminary datastring was dropped as was the weight stamp on the lower rib.

I don't think the mechanics were supposed to make guns until 1953. But this one looks like a transitional piece at the end of the British Period and the beginning of a new dawn for the makers. It doesn't wear cocked or loaded indicators; nor sideclips but does have a hidden Greener 3rd fastener.

Borovlje offerings from(L-R) are 1947(non ejector), 1946(ejectors-Purdey Nose) & 1950(ejectors)(Josef Winkler).

On the 1947, the Dogs have little resistance. But on the 1946 & 1950 w/ the slotted Dogs, quite a bit of resistance & they are a component of the Ejector mechanism.

I just noticed too that the maker code for the 1947 is 40/33( Ludwig Borovnik) & the maker for the 1946 offering is 40/32?
