This weekend was the Colorado Gun Collectors Association show, “Internationally Known as the Best Gun Show”. (Easier to claim than prove.) I can say that with 800 tables they do a good job of focusing participation on antique and C&R arms and related items. No “jerky and junk”, no black rifles and plastic pistols. It’s a classic arms “show and sell” not a double gun gathering but to me it’s fascinating. I could spend all day both days easing along the aisles, talking with the collectors/vendors and listening in on conversations. I never have but I could.

It was good to catch up with Steve (SKB) at the Bertram table and to talk with out of state displayers.

I thought the president had some things to say that were worth repeating.

“We have worked hard to continue this great tradition where people from across the country can meet to share stories, enjoy each other’s company, and buy and sell items to further their collections.”

“This has been a particularly tough year for a lot of us as we have lost many of our friends. That has made me reflect a lot more on the friends I still have and how much I appreciate them.”

“Gun shows and gun collectors have been under a lot of pressure the last few years with all of the legislation aimed at trying to curb gun violence. We know we are not the problem, but it is hard to convince others that don’t own or understand guns. It is more important than ever to support one another in this fight to maintain our Second Amendment Rights.”

I was there yesterday and it was a great day among great folks.
