Dez Young made the BSS popular and a nice one around here will command up to $3000.00- just for the boxlock 20 gauge if they aren't boogered up someway. They don't stay on consignment long. It took me a long time before I found mine-a new one in the box a couple years ago. I have bought several guns with screw in chokes that were made at the factory with them, mainly for a specific shooting sport. Nothing wrong with that. But, I don't know how many times I have seen a guy at my club pull out a nice Model 21, Browning Superposed or an AH Fox and then reach in his trunk for a tire tool and start digging out screw in chokes. 😁 Or get out on the sporting clays course and you have to wait for some guy to change the chokes at every stand. Or you get on the trap line and start to call for a target and someone down the line is missing and everyone looks around and he's back there deciding to change the choke and you know he's shot that same gun for years and by now that choke should be encrusted into that gun. That is one of the best things about shooting over the years- is always being enlightened by people and their shooting habits. Like spending a ton of money on a gun and the first thing they do is have someone grind out the chokes. It's like the farrier who fits the horse to the shoe rather than fitting the shoe to the horse. Like I said before, they make Mossbergs and CZs for that. But, to each his own. Okay by me. 🤣
