You are nut Sunshine. Good bird dogs and miles in the wild lead to birds, it takes work, costs money and is my passion. Why on earth you think you are worthy of passing judgement on how I spend my time is beyond me. Maybe you should concern yourself with how much time you spend in the field. Want more kids in the field Craig? Take one. I buy my license and follow the law, beyond that, you can KMA. The topic of this thread is not where are the kids in hunting, it is economics and hunting, please try to follow along Sunshine.
I have a four year old setter in her prime and house that is paid for on those fruited plains, expect more pictures this fall, even with the 5$ a gallon gas your president has brought us. If you don't like how I spend my time and money, I'm happy to send you a small box of Colorado sand for you to pound All my best, Steve

I know it is my business to respond to you, if I want and how I want. You are a silly little fellow, what urges you to think this is atampon measuring contest. The next time you walk out your back door for a home town hunt, take a kid, or don't. Of course I couldkiss yourA, but it will only depend on if I feel like doing it or not. Send my sand to a kid, just don't give 'em a marlon air horn to play with, where law abiding hunters buy their licenses and fill their tanks with your five buck gas. Follow along marlon, or don't, all of my sunshine, to you.
As I believe I mentioned earlier, there are lots of variables involved here (societal, economic, & very-much cultural) and there are plenty of examples of late-in-life hunters who come strongly into the sport as adults (without any previous exposure to it), leading to my revised overall theory of "Opportunity and Inclination ".
I do however like your supposition of the "genetic superiority" of the early hominids who first hunted. Would that we all decended from Captains and Kings...
That certainly resonates for me(!) as I'd much rather be associated with hunters and warriors than with bunch of seed-eaters and basket weavers (although both seem to be necessary anymore).

Just a hunch but I’m betting it was the seed eaters and basket weavers that invented the wheel.

Sure. Right after the seed eaters got done pulling in pride on the animal skin suspenders they bought from the killers, they figured out why they had to have a skill set above and beyond bending at the waist to pick berries.
Best, Ted
