I liken this discussion to The currently out of fashion story of Little Black Sambo.
Round and round and round in circles we go until we end up turning to butter and as a happy aside, everybody gets to eat pancakes.
Probably the second shotgun ever produced needed personal fitting.
Everything else is just running round and round the bush.
If a person is serious about competition, the expectation is that you will have the gun fitted to you for the best scores.
The closer to exactly circular50-50 distributions at 55 yards. You are able to deliver the shot, the higher your scores will be.
For casual shooters, occasional hunters, collectors. It’s probably far less anxiety provoking to just moderate your expectations.
