This years shirt was sold out when I got there. But, I had my brat, potato salad and a Summit beer.

I like that. It’s in keeping with my philosophy of going where I want when I want and doing what I want and nobody even paying attention that I was.

I end up with piles of T-shirts for the strangest of reasons. The biggest one would be, and the greatest source of the highest quality T-shirts, is that scientist’s by and large are smaller than I am.

So when they go to a conference, the swag package that the vendors buy contains a whole bunch of extra large T-shirts, that no scientist’s ever take.

My kid takes a picture of the front and the back determines what grade of T-shirt they are for me, and then snags me a few more from the various vendors. So I end up with T-shirts from neurobiology companies and testing machinery companies.

But they’re $20 T-shirts, and since that’s what I wear all year round, I wear out a handful every year.
The rest go to the homeless shelter

I agreed to keep the pile to 70.
The homeless are better off for it.

Out there doing it best I can.

I've been in the middle of a home renovation for the last year or so and one of my main sources of materials is the yard called Rings End. They are conveniently located less than a quarter mile away and sometimes they see me two or three times a day.

Two or three times a year they have a blowout on their T-shirts, 100% cotton Hanes. Two dollars each. I buy 10 at a time.

My problem lies in reconciling my gross habits with my net income.

Free is truly great and I do have a number of those as well but...I'm trying to be more deliberate here.
