Thanks Phil. How's your slackum mixture working? What guns do you use it on? I also have an old model Vaquero in .45 Colt. Good deal on one from a pair of CAS guns. A major lead removal job and not a one-holer with 200gr roundheads but a second-childhood (or maybe the first) purchase I guess. I may have been the first one to shoot my '73 Old Army. It definitely likes a lot of holes bunched together. Did my homework and comletely dissassembled and stripped off all petroleum lube (except for trigger) before I shot it. Using home-made felt overpowder lube wads (beeswax, parafine, and neatsfoot oil) which certainly work to reduce bore fouling without taking a bath in dirty Crisco. I'm also looking for capgun roll caps which have enuf punch to ignite bp in Forster Tap-O-Cap coke can percussion caps. So far haven't had success finding. Queried Forster; told them I loved the idea but without a source of good caps the thing is a 20$ paperwgt. Got back a nice response; said they were on it. Same query to the retailer Midsouth; they said I should try Toys 'R Us. Bad idea. Toys R is so PC they probably don't sell squirt guns for fear kids will catch cold!
