If I won the lottery I would buy a Cessna Caravan, load up my gear, a couple of Fox 16s, my five bird dogs and my shooting student Joe Wood and I would fly the whole mess to Patagonia, Argentina and go quail hunting. Then in September I’d fly to Saskatchewan with the same conglomeration and hunt partridge and grouse. I’d folllow the cooler weather south … Montana, then South Dakota, then Nebraska, Kansas and back in Amarillo for the opening day of Bobwhite season, November first.

I’d hunt in Amarillo till the end of bob season, February 28. Then I’d start all over again in Patagonia in May.

I am glad to be here.
