P&V guns look nice. No question.
The people I know who shot them a lot had barrel and rib issues with few options to replace iirc. I did not dig into it deeply but I don’t think parts interchange with Perazzi nor are they readily available from P&V. I could be wrong or it could have changed.
Separated ribs, broken springs, etc. kept Giacomo pretty busy too. They’re still busy doing that kind of work on P-guns.
All guns will need serviced eventually. Shit happens.
I’d bet that the number of P&V gun owners in the states could probably be counted on 1 maybe two hands. They probably don’t care if something breaks, they have other guns to shoot while it’s out getting repaired.
P&V guns just don’t look nice, they are top of the line.Fit. Finish. Mechanics. The machining on the actions is approaching space grade, similar to Fabbri. I’d bet they really don’t cater to the high volume, sporting clays, target crowds. Game guns and Pigeon guns are what I’m familiar with. I’ve only seen a few. A couple of Purdey Sporters and a couple pigeon guns that Tom Bryant couldn’t wait to show me back in the Cabelas golden days.
