Last large group of guns, 17, in total, I imported from Holt's cost just over $6,000.00 to import. That included shipping, to the US and to my dealer, insurance, import duties and taxes, and local fees. Can't recall if there was any state taxes then but I have been informed there will be now. I figure going forwards $450-500 plus per gun. It cost almost the same to import a gun you buy for $300 as one that cost $1,500.00. Only difference is import duties and taxes if post 1898. If you buy what you like, at prices you can not find local and know the gun is in proof there are interesting buys. To help offset the cost I bought four 11-87's, in excellent condition, for just under 200 pounds each. I gave the 12 Sporting Clays to my daughter in law ans sold the three others for just under a grand profit each. That help offset the import cost a lot. 1100 and 11-87 are real values sometimes if bought in with a large group. Not so much alone with import cost north of $4-600.00.

This last regular auction I did not win any guns but I still have a group coming from the last sealed bid auction and will buy another bunch from this sealed bid auction as well if I can find anything that interest me. It is getting harder to find new "gems" because I have many "gems" already. I have a number I have never shot and most of my interest have been filled. But out of several thousand guns I am sure there are more than a few I just must own. Good luck to anyone who is not bidding on the guns I am bidding on.

Google- a general 10% U.S. tariff still applies to vintage and antique guns (pre-1898) imported from Britain, though pre-1898 firearms are exempt from standard ATF import licensing (Form 6) and Federal Firearms License (FFL) requirements
