I hang out with some Democrat voting American hunters and gun owners. Until they met me, they hung around with NO ONE who wasn't a progressive liberal. Sure there is hypocrisy in their views and voting patterns but most of us aren't perfect. The idea of completely cutting out 50% of the population because of their political views is just stupid. It doesn't matter which side is doing it. The polarization actually is a problem. So is most progressive ideology. But the solution sure isn't shunning.
Funny how we see things differently. At one time, James here was a very strong 2nd Amendment supporter, and frequently shared what happened to gun owners in Canada. I praised him and often referred to him as our "Canary in the Coal Mine" for warning U.S. Gun Owners what would happen if anti-gun Democrats got their way. James would also attack the Liberals right along with me as many other staunch Conservative Gun Rights defenders did. Unfortunately, quite a few of them no longer Post here either, through death or simple disgust with the Liberals. The site is poorer for them no longer being here. Over time, James became more tolerant of the Libs and began saying their opinions were valid, and we were better off having them here to debate. James began chiding me and saying that my hard line against those who were stabbing us in the back by supporting anti-gun Democrats was't changing anyone's mind.
I challenged him to name one Liberal anti-gun supporter his progressively softer approach had converted, and he couldn't name a single one. He challenged me to name anyone my approach changed, and I had no trouble giving him a couple names of guys who directly credited me with opening their eyes. James will claim that I changed, but I had some members express surprise that he had changed. He became more and more openly critical and hostile toward me, but I tolerated it. He became slowly more tolerant of the Libs he had previously criticized for being so blind to support the very politicians who were trying to gut the 2nd Amendment. Then he emailed me to ask me if I would rust blue some shotgun barrels for him because he knew PA24 Doug Woodin had shared his bluing methods and rusting formulas with me. I tried to reply by PM instead of email, and couldn't because he was IGNORING me. So I said nothing and watched him become even more critical of me. jOe saw it too, and replied to me that with friends like him... who needs enemies? I finally woke up and agreed. At one point, when he had me unblocked, I was just tired of his two-faced crap, i.e., insulting me while also asking me to rust blue barrels for him. So I PM'd him and told him privately to go f*ck himself, and I ended our internet friendship. He has since said that's a lie, and that we never were friends. But there are several Posts in the archives where he referred to me as his friend. We once got along great, but kicking him aside was no mistake.
Afterwards he Posted my "GO- F*CK- YOURSELF" PM here, where I had ended any friendship we had, and he actually tried to claim we had both joked about him IGNORING me and being openly critical of me. That was both ridiculous and a complete lie. He was frantically trying to cover up his two-faced betrayal, and I really pity anyone who ever trusts him. This should spark some unhinged vitriol, and more lies, but I do still have the PM where I terminated our friendship, and several emails including the one where he asked me to blue barrels for him. He will say I am crazy and an irrational liar, because he tried that before. But he was willing to send expensive shotgun barrels to the U.S. to be in the hands of someone who he now says is crazy. I really didn't think he'd wish to go down this path again.
But that is over and done, and he continued his path of being softer and easier on those who undermine us by supporting anti-gunners. The change in him after King Brown invited him and his son to visit him in Nova Scotia was even more shocking. He even got to the point of teaming up with Princess SKB to disrupt Threads, and attempted to put words in my mouth concerning slavery. That was in the same Thread where Preacher was lying about what Miller correctly stated concerning what the Old Testament said about slavery.
One very interesting thing I have alluded to, but intentionally never stated directly, was that while James once was very vocal about Gun Rights, and frequently warned us here about what the anti-gunners in Canada had done and were doing... he virtually stopped doing that. In fact, Canada banned all sales, importation, and transfers of new and existing handguns in Canada nearly 4 years ago, on Oct. 21. 2022, and James has not even mentioned it. The Canary In The Coal Mine flew the coop to hang out with his new Libtard friends.
So I disagree completely. Part of the solution is shunning. Princess SKB went from claiming to support Trump and being an Independent Moderate who was a gun rights supporter to openly and proudly announcing that no Republicans have her vote any longer. But we all know she never did support Trump or Republicans... or gun rights. The "Big Tent" theory that says we all need to stick together to preserve Gun Rights will never work as long as we embrace those Gun Owners who are stabbing us in the backs by supporting anti-gunners. There should be one default position for any gun owner. If a politician cannot be trusted to preserve the 2nd Amendment, they shouldn't be trusted with anything else. Demand that your anti-gun Democrat change, or find a Democrat who won't infringe on the 2nd... if that's even possible anymore. This coddling, embracing, socializing idea is more stupid than hiring Chinese and Russian spies to work in the Pentagon. Would James say that we shouldn't exclude pedophiles from teaching Kindergarten???... At this point, he possibly would.
Most of those who have Posted in this personal attack Thread hate it when I say that, because they all support anti-gun Democrats. James, who was once very critical of supporting anti-gunners now wants us all to sing Kumbaya with them.
I have not changed... but he sure has.
