It wasn’t just Jack. But, his crown was the biggest.


Jack was waxing poetic about the Winchester model 70, in .270 for North American game for much of my life. Years later, we found out he never really strayed from his familiar 30-06 for his own shooting.

My Dad was a serious rifleman, but, in spite of that he wasn’t as gifted with a shotgun. Ever. I imagine there are guys who do both disciplines well, they just weren’t in my orbit.
