Um, after doing a bit of re-reading of proof text, it was around the 1910/1911 timeframe when Austria adopted the >>4000 ATM<< powder for proof of the Austrian Mannlicher M1895 rifles. The Zella-Mehlis 1911 Rules Change adopted the Special Proof Powders from the Köln-Rottweil Powder Werkes, of which one such powder could have been R5??


So after a bit of inferring, it is highly possible that the mechanics @ Vjperty acknowledged the German Preliminary Proofs a few years before the 1914 Brussels Conference on Proof. German was driving the Proof Cart and made everyone on the Continent take note. This could explain the absence of the Vjperty / Weipert Preliminary marks on the Vjperty Kombo.

Now the J. Springer's Erben Vjperty sourced Kombo as been in Alaska for the past 6 years or so, but I just do not believe the 6,5X70R tube was added there. I have not been able to gain any History prior to that.
