Argo44 does a decent job of summarising the Hodges Lang story. Reilly and Blanch did quickly adopt the breech-loading sporting gun/rifle concept that Lang 'introduced into England'. My great great grandfather was Edwin Charles Hodges, not Edward. There are points of fact that I would amend if I had the time, but I just wanted to mention the name error. Stephen Nash is an exceptional writer on early British pinfires (and other firearms) and I value his advice greatly in my research on Lang and Hodges.Apologies that this is brief.
