Give able-bodied non-working people geese to eat instead of giving them Food Stamps and EBT, and kill two birds with one stone. They will then be happy to go back to work, and will even take the jobs vacated by deported illegal aliens. And it will save the taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars.
I use herbicides carefully and sparingly, and wouldn't want to live next to a golf course or drink well water from a well in the same aquifer. Golfers may not be rolling in the grass, but the workers are spraying large amounts of chemicals, and getting exposed. A local golf course wiped out a large number of spruce and pine trees planted along the highway several years ago when they sprayed 2,4-D on a windy Spring day while the trees were in budbreak. I also often see workers for Chem Lawn, TruGreen, and other lawn service companies spraying on windy days, and without adequate PPE. Then fools who can't stand to see a dandelion let their kids and pets play on the freshly sprayed lawns. Of course, we once taught Greek and Latin to High School students, and now Colleges teach remedial English and Reading. It shows.
