![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/i0x0FE2.jpg) "We shall never forget them" We shall not and it was not that "...some people did something..." or that "... hijackings led to passenger jet crashes..." NO Evil personified came to kill. May we, also, never forget that.

I recently purchased a used gun which came in a rather standard case. On receipt of the gun I noted the code for the three locks was 911. The previous owner selected a code that will remind me of the tragic events that occurred 25 years ago every time I see the case.

First Charlie and then this.
I do hope the adults in the room are paying attention.

On this day, 25 years ago, my exchange student came into the kitchen and told me that an airliner had just flown into one of the World Trade Towers. We turned on the TV and there it was.
We were quite frightened as my sister worked across the street from the towers and it was hours before we heard from her. She lived 6 blocks away and her husband was looking out their living room window and saw the second plane hit. He witnessed 100's of lives murdered in an instant. It was a sight and memory he bore until he died.
My sister and brother-in-law had to find other lodgings for months. She is a universal donor so she went to a blood bank to donate. My sister said she was sitting there feeling sorry for herself when she heard a woman with three small children talking on the phone. The woman was telling the listener that she hadn't heard from her husband since he went to work in the towers that morning. My sister was a bit ashamed and counted her blessings. In the end, the blood wasn't really needed as there were very few survivors who needed it.

My wife and I were on vacation in England for our twenty-fifth anniversary. We had been out touring and stopped at a petrol station on the way back to our friend's home in Kingsthorpe. My wife went into the store while I was pumping petrol and the folks there said "American? We are sorry for your troubles." She replied, "which troubles?" They pointed to the television. We got back to our friend's, Max & Germaine, home in time to get the telly on and see the second plane hit the second tower. The next day we moved to our U.S. friend's who were both working at JAC Molesworth. The base commander locked things down and no one could get on without a security pass so their children couldn't get to day-care! We came in handy!

I was teaching a class on the 8th floor of the library at Hofstra, with my back to the Manhattan skyline, when my students all turned to see the first tower and smoke. We thought for a minute it was FDNY conducting a drill but soon learned from security what it was and were told to evacuate asap. All classes were soon canceled. Not something we will ever forget.

I'm in CT and I was in at work when a co-worker's clock/radio reported a plane hitting the WTC. I suppose like most who didn't see it happen I thought a pilot in a small civilian plane had truly screwed up. I tried many of the online new sites, but you couldn't get into to them due to the extreme volumes of traffic. When the second plane hit the second tower, I knew it wasn't an accident. At some point the department head told us we could leave for the day. I watched the TV and saw the towers fall, heard about the Pentagon being and the heroic passengers on Flight 93 attempting to storm the cockpit, almost certainly preventing another attack on a high value target.
I have become addicted to English hammered shotguns to the detriment of my wallet.
