Kutter, would not the ribs on most shotgun barrels be made from a softer steel than the action and barrel(s)?

I ask this because I have seen so many that were bent, and have straightened those ventilated ones that were, and they sure seemed like a softer alloy steel.

Not an expert but surely they are soft steel
