I saw a notice on FB that, day before yesterday, Pres. Trump signed an executive order opening 92 million acres of federally controlled land to fishing and hunting (and hiking, etc.). These had supposedly been absolutely closed to the public before this. It was his contention that these lands were bought with taxpayer dollars and should be open to us. This could be huge for the western states where so many of you live and hunt. There's not much of it in Georgia, it seems.

There was also a reference to lead shot and ammunition in the announcement, tho' I'm unsure what it entailed. Maybe no more lead bans on shot for uplands on public lands? I dunno.

Anyone else seen anything about this?

Look under Sec. 2, subsection 6.

vi) permit the use of traditional lead ammunition and tackle.

Thanks Stan, this has been quite a year for expansion of 2A rights and shooting activities. I gotta take a look at what's covered and what hoops need jumping through.

I saw Trump announcing this.

What was great was that he admitted that he is not a hunter or shooter, but he respects our Gun rights... unlike virtually all Democrats.

He said he has been informed that lead ammo is better, so he was happy to protect our right to use it.

I will certainly remember which side is for us, and which is against us when I vote in November. And don't tell me Democrats would do a better job with the economy because we've seen how they managed to give us higher prices on gas and everything else without a war. At least 25% of our current fuel costs are a direct result of Joe Biden inflation. Dems want us to just forget that part.

I was paying 2.29$ before the unwarranted war with Iran, Today 4.39$. Approaching 8 months into a 4 week war(or isn't it a war?) and no end in sight with the violence in the Middle East escalating daily. Illegal tariffs which have cost me dearly continue. Diesel and heating oil at nearly 7$ a gallon.

I too will remember how we got here in the mid-terms and I won't support a single Republican this year due to the mess that Trump has made.

Was this before or after the DSA paid off the house you were entitled to.

Oh Sunshine, it was good old fashioned capitalism that paid off my house, just like everything else I have acquired in my life.

I'm pretty sure that under Biden, gasoline was higher than $4.29 a gallon, the 92 million acres were closed, and lead shot was out of favor. Oh and yes, how much money did Biden release to the Iranians to fund their nuclear bomb development? We have to see a silver lining every once in a while.

The silver lining is easy for me to see. I use many thousands of gallons of fuel each year on the farm, and roads. I'll trade loss of profits due to increased fuel costs for security from Iranian nuclear attack anyday, and everyday. I've said that since the beginning of the war with them. Nothing has changed my mind in the last 8 months.

I have seen enough war and believe our intelligence agencies assessment that Iran was far, far from being capable of building a bomb.

Nothing has changed my mind in the last 8 months either, this was and remains a mistake of biblical proportions.
