For my dad, how a politician treated the second amendment was the litmus test of whether he voted for him or not. He figured a person who understood what that right in the constitution represented to American culture would be well prepared for any work that followed regarding lawmaking in other areas of society. It didn’t always track perfectly, but, it was closer than you might expect.
Our current governor, is no friend of the second, and has managed to lose about $10 billion in tax payer funds, in less than a single bianium. He is the litmus test for being a moron, and the lefties all thought he was somehow qualified to be vice president, something not a single lefty is able to competently explain at this juncture in time. I’m not clear on how he is still able to walk around freely, but, there it is.
“Dump Spannaus, vote for someone else” was more than an NRA slogan in the house I grew up in.
Still is.
