Your post is a perfect example of what I was trying to convey. What makes you think that the person at the counter was purposefully trying to mislead you about the arrival time of your firearm?
There is a difference between lying, and being wrong or inaccurate.
It is Entirely possible that the person at the counter (or whomever you spoke to) has no reason to believe (based on their daily experience with the contractors), and what the screens they look at tell them, (which is the only information they have to share), that your firearm wasn’t going to be there on Friday.
Running around calling everybody who is wrong about something a liar just makes the world a worse place.
In order:
1) Because it was obvious when the package was in a different state at 3:00 PM that it wasn’t getting delivered on Friday.
2) There is. This was lying.
3) There was no reasonable expectation that the package was going to be delivered on Friday to any functioning, thinking adult. That would have been OK if that's what they'd told me...instead, they lied.
4) Accurate. But not what's going on in this case.
