What a lifetime treasure. not much more to say. I used to paint a lot of watercolors and realize how good your painting is.

A dozen years ago , my daughter in law and son lived in India. This is an oil painting that they had done there of me and my grandson , Jack, who was hunting with me in the Coronado National Forest for actually three species of desert quail. Jack is now 16 and will hunt pheasants with me in a few weeks. Nowadays, Jack is tall enough [6 foot 1 Inch] that the Coronado weeds would not hit him in the face and make him "nervous" according to his explanation back then.

Daryl, Your painting truly captures the spirit of the moment. Floyd is feeling his way around with watercolors as he has primarily painted with oils and acrylics. Here are two that were on his easel in recent times. HIs daughter is trout fishing in NC and the other is a permit on the flats. Both done in acrylic. He made a living carving and painting realistic birds and at this stage of his life, is looking to dedicating more time on his easel than at his carving desk. Oh, he also made his easel. Gil

This seems to be the case where it truly is the thought that counts, notwithstanding that is a wonderful gift.

There are a very few times when the painting is actually better than the photograph. The painting of Floyd's daughter is one of them, IMO.
