I own a W&C Scott and Sons 8 gauge single. It was sold through Reed (?sp) in Boston and bought from there. It weighs 8-9 pounds. Mde 1874-1875. It handles very well. Not shown in a period catalog so I expect pretty rare but I did find a reference to it being a Light Waterfowl model. It is cylinder bore and also shoots a round ball of the proper diameter reasonably well. In its day it would have made a nice gunning and deer combination.
'The difference between it and the Greener and the Galand I own is striking from a shooting and handling perspective.
