Gun is very nice and a fantastic buy. It's a very light 12GA in the English Tradition with a 3rd fastener. DT's, sling swivels but no dreaded cheek piece. Gun is very tight and on face with fantastic ejectors and 26 3/4" bbls choked 17.5 and 18.3 with 70MM Chambers. It is a classic gamegun swamped rib configuration and while I haven't weighed it, my guess is 6LBS. I shoot the gun very well as it has modern dimensions at 1 1/2" X 2 1/2". But my index finger is too short to reach the front trigger without the rest of my hand jammed into the trigger guard which hurts badly upon recoil. Otherwise, I'd be keeping it. I have very short fingers.
The gun is 1924 Vintage with all approriate proof marks and able to shoot modern loads - but I shoot low pressure handloads anyway and try to keep them at 8500PSI or less. Top lever is still slightly right of center, bores are mirror. Gun has some CC left, especially inside. If I were to keep the gun I would sned it in for a re-rust blue not becasue it really needs it, but because bbls have a few scuffs on them. its got the usual push button style A&D forend and pretty nice wood. Id say for its time, it would be a tad better than a medium grade gun, but certainly not a best gun. Bbls ring like chimes. Asking $900.00 or best offer. Gun is a Syndicat Liegeois product. Very nice and interesting Guild Gun. Looks alot like a Francotte (which it should since Francotte was a partner in the Syndicat Liegeois. The gun is at least a $1500.00 gun and maybe quite a bit more.
How many prewar ejector guns in high condition go for $900??!!?
I will also allow the customary 3 day inspection period with full refund should it not meet your expectations.Pix Available on request or just scroll down the page to my earlier but ineffective classified entitled Belgian SXS.Its hard for me to believe nobody would want this gun, but maybe I didn't do a very good job explaining what it is in the first advertisement - I'm hoping.
