You are correct of course. I never stated any where my friend that finished barrels were being shipped. The problem with talking about a Lefever or Parker is that we speak in generalities and compress decades sometimes generations into a single sentence. A simple question gets asked and one seeks to supply a simple answer.
We can be fairly confident that struck barrels were not being shipped. Belgian proof law would have stepped in and we would be seeing more than a occasional maker's punch.
I keep getting told that British barrels are browned. I have never seen examples of Belgian barrels being browned. If your experience is different, please share it. I would like to learn.
