I have an A grade very similar with Photographic engraving.
Yes, I believe it has been color case hardened and refinished also.

What? According to the Davis ad in your link, NR Davis sold boxlocks with safety interceptors...is that correct? It's been 20 yrs since I've seen the innards of a NR Davis (clunker model)...I've seen some very attractive Davis shotguns and I've seen some clunkers by Davis... I'll be paying closer attention to NR Davis in the future.

I don't know where the Assonet, Mass., N.R. Davis guns are. I believe every N.R. Davis I've ever seen has been from after the takeover by Warner Arms Corp. and the move to Norwich.
