Just wondering if anyone else thinks Mr. Beach's gun may be a Paragon and not an A. Seems like maybe the focus was on the barrels and not the rest of the gun. I could be wrong, any thoughts?????

I'm waiting for Daryl or Dave to answer this, but the Paragons usually had more elaborate engraving on the breech balls

I just haven't seen any A's with the fancier trigger, and it seems like more involved engraving than an A. Just seemed like more things pointed to a higher grade than that.

It looks to me that Mr. Beach's gun is a Paragon. The style of engraving and the serial number point to this grade. And of course the trigger blade shaping. A very nice gun. Chris

Also, the barrel lug extending thru the bottom of the frame, not just flush, points to Paragon.

Good catch "Bum"... funny how a friend and I were discussing some guns and this one came up. Just couldn't figure out why others on this board had not disclosed the Paragon connection. Sad to see the diminishing amount of posters. Perhaps the check is already in the mail. Nice gun Mr. Beach.

Okay, so how did the early Paragon compare in price to the A/B guns? Specifically my early B #173 price and Bob's early Paragon #4xx. His gun has nicer wood and better execution/engraving and no etching(I presume it was cheaper to etch than engrave?) Ross
