Bill, how much do you want to spend, I have a friend that has an L grade SBT, rib was been changed by Simmons many years ago, otherwise it is very nice but will probably be expensive.

Hi Bill. I can understand your interest in the Fox SBT gun. They are beautiful guns. I have only seen a handful in my time. I think the last one I saw was at the Grand. If you don't purchase the one above, you might want to contact Jaqua's and let them know that you are interested. They might run across one in the future. That is the best answer I can give you because they have rare guns every now and then. You might want to check out some of the larger shops on the web. As Jim said, it will be expensive. Good luck.

Fair market value would be what I would like to spend. I am a small collector of American made single barrel trap guns and do not have a fox yet. Did they replace the rid or reattach it?

Bill, like Jimmy W said, there are more buyers than sellers for these guns. I have been interested in classic American doubles for over 50 years and I have more fingers than the number of Fox SBTs I have seen. According to McIntosh something like 500 total production and maybe 25 L grades. If you are really interested in the L SBT contact me by email and I will see what Paul wants for his gun and take some pictures for you.

I think the guys are correct in the rarity of the Fox guns. I have seen quite a few Ithacas and own three Dalys of that same period. It seems strange to me that there were so few Fox SBT guns built, when considering A H Fox's great love and activity in shooting trap. Best, John

I have a J SBT. They are a interesting design and a neat gun. Bill, What other sbt guns do you have? I collect SBT as well. So far I have:
Baker 2 early octagon Elite,Sterling 1 late Sterling LC Smith prototype Parker SC Fox J Weston Francotte Early Flues Ithaca 4E Charles Sparrow Young (this is a two shot forward pump repeater) Browning Recoilless (get them while they are cheap)
I would like to find an Emil Flues SBT, Ljutic space gun and DM Lefever. There was a very nice unique SBT that had been made by somebody in California at the antique arms show a couple years ago,but the guy wanted more than I was willing to pay for it. Ive been watching for a Fox since I saw you post on trapshooters. Shoot me an email so I can get ahold of you if I find one. ross@berck.org
John, I think Ansley was long gone by the time the SBT came out.
