One of ours is in pain.
The beloved wife, of my friend, John Barnoski has finally completed her life.
Marianne was a strong woman that did not allow her life to be complete until she had done, on earth, what she could see to completion.
That was to let all that loved her to know that they were loved , completely, in return.
My dear friend John is in pain. I pray that he will come to know that life does have an end and that those that go before us are beloved by our God.
He will be strengthened, in his aloneness, by our standing with him in his pain of loss.

I don't know how to help others grieve except to let them know they're not alone and that we care. With respect, I'm uneasy with consolations of philosophy to friends who know life better than I so I just go and sip and listen.
Often friendship among men is too much of a commercial arrangement, of scratching backs, exchanging favours for profit. It's times like these that allow us to be the men we are or want to be and that's a blessing.

Friend John: So many of us who frequent this board have endured the loss of a beloved wife... I can remember like yesterday the hollow, empty, pain... The loss of a good wife is the most horrible thing I have endured. Prayers sent but deep inside I know the only thing which will help him endure is the loving support from a friend like you. God bless you both.

John, so sorry to hear about the loss of a friends wife. The pain never goes away, just easies a bit.
I'm sure in the near future you friend will realize what a great friend he has in you in reminiscing old times together.
