I like SS blade that holds sharp edge along with non-slip synthetic handle. You know, something I can wash after use and hang out to dry. I certainly would not want to pay big bucks and wait until 2012 to get a stupid knife.
A Samuri sword made by a Jap master that costs more than a new Purdey gun now that should take some time to complete.

He does. I have met him a few times, nice guy. I have also handled the knives and I was very impressed. They are pretty inexpensive considering many factory made knives are in that price range.

Yep. Good looking, strong, and affordable. There are indeed quite a few people doing top notch work. The ABS site is great.

I am amazed at the high quality photography on the custom knife vendor websites. They sure know to post photos of their products. The online gun business could take lessons from them.

The Bladegallery site is pure eye candy.

I've heard of Randall Knives and I'm sure they are dandy. Here's my problem:

"Demand is generally so great for all models that we normally have a backlog of many months. Currently, we are scheduling knife deliveries for third quarter 2012."

2012? Yikes!!!! I thought was a Rush album not a delivery schedule.....

In 4 years all the things I want to stab will have run away.

I'm sure that most Randall business is done by those who are monopolizing the waiting list. New Randalls are not hard to find, they just aren't available at the factory.

A good friend started making his own knives a few years back and has really turned out some nice pieces. Extremely functional, this guy actually hunts and uses his knives, tweeks them from experience. Reasonably priced, lifetime guarantee and only a 3 month wait. I especially like his canvas micarta handles.

I have a small Javelina model for hunting and also own the Arizona Bowie.

He's the guy that named me Recoil Rob!
