A Jones best is as good as a Purdey's best
Isn't that a little extreme.....if it was true Jones would be where Purdey was and Purdey would be where Jones is...Don't think people didn't know quality back then just like some do now.

Hey Roy, forgot to ask you a question. Where the guns marked "W. Palmer Jones" after 1940? And also, are there anything one should look for in these guns if one were to buy one (other than the normal inspection)?
Thanks so very Much!
Greg

j0e, I've seen some less of best from Purdey, but I've never seen a less of best from the best of Henry Atkin's bests. (still with me ol'bean?) Altho' he made less in the long run, his few might have been better.

Squire G....A possible explanation on your"Less of best" from Purdey?...which one of your JP&S was this? The New Pair you took Receipt of, or the"Light Game 12bore that"Uncle Albert" left you in his will? Most Members of the'Twinki-Set'dont know what the Anson'Nob'is!!Maybe you judge your Purdey's by the Engraving? cc

Why, the much rumored less than best lean years of course - the 60s Mods and Rockers, or the 70s was it? Hey "T" waz you workin' there at that time?
