Due to an influx of grandkids I have had to move my gun safe to the garage. I'm a little concerned about moisture and humidity. What do you folks recommend as a reliable safeguard?

A combination of a Goldenrod, color indicating dessicant, and bi-annual inspection and recoating has kept the guns in our garaged safe perfect. The dessicant is cheaper from e-bay than from Brownells; ebay dessicant

I have been using the combo of Goldenrod and a dessicant. Before safe was installed I put in a "pad" of vinyl/asphalt floor tiles to insulate safe from concrete. Also the "garage" is my workshop, hobby room so I had an AC/heating duct installed from central air, and replaced old worn out wooden overhead door with a snug fitting insulated garage door. At time of duct work replaced old 3 ton heat pump with new high efficency 4 ton model. After that my electric bill was reduced about 40% over previous years. I have had no problems with corrosion in my safe, even if I am slack in wiping down metalwork .

You can keep a check on it pretty easily with a thermometer and a humidity gauge inside the safe. The temperature should be about 70* and the humidity should remain about 50%. Good luck.
