On the Adolph thread we decided that it might be a good learning tool for all of us to post some photos of engraving that we can document who the engraver is. The more we see known works, the easier it will be to identify unknown engraving . I hope that others might participate and give the documentation for the engraver.
This gun is a Baker from Baker Gun and Forging Co. It is Signed by Frank Mason the Baker engraver for about 10 years until 1910 or so. Mason went on to establish and engraving business doing symbols, company motiffs, and other identifications that needed a talented hand. This gun is one of two I know of signed by Mason and another gun is known as his personal gun, but not signed as I recall.
