Bob, Thanks, The trigger guard (with Bear) and the forward part of the housing were engraved by Fugger. The floor plate was engraved by Marty Rabeno last year. Mark has temporarily misplaced the original floorplate engraved by Fugger with Moose. Hopefully he will find it in time for the display in Reno.

Daryl, I thought it would be fitting to post this as a sort of homage: Signore Bregoli was an engraver for Beretta. I believe Richard Saloom, who posted here, has one by him also. Slate posted this some time ago: "In written correspondence that I had with Beretta some time ago they advised me that G. Bregoli was considered by them to be a " Master Engraver " who for some time was an " Overseer" and " Exectutor " of engraving on the finest of their guns. I believe that he retired in 1961." The gun is a Beretta S3EL made in 1960, with Böhler steel barrels and straight grip. JC

JayCee, thanks for the Italian info. This is what I was thinking of when I thought that lots of people out there must have wonderful information on engraving from here and across the seas. I appreciate your info., and hope others think this post is worth contributing to. Daryl

To all, I have also been lurking here and on the earlier Adolph post, wonderful stuff and I thank you each and all very much! It would be good to see the engraver's signature or touchmark both for style and placement. Some engravers enjoyed hiding their signature or at least camouflaging it. (thanks JC. Daryl, Is that Mason initials in the lower right of the vignette?)
Also, if I might add a photography suggestion, either tilting the subject or the light will show engraving much better. Straight on lighting and camera angle will not expose the engraving at its best. Happy New Year! (Michael, I believe your books have arrived, but I've yet to open the 35 lb. box!)

SDH, I think you are seeing the F E M initials in the lower right of the last picture. There is an earlier closeup in this post showing it in more detail.
Mike, thanks for the last posting of the Kornbrath brochure. Your first post of another part of that brochure , the one with the two rifle floorplates you matched to rifles that you have pictured, also showed a wonderful Baker Superba single barrel trap. I have never seen or heard of the actual gun, but assume it was made.
By the way, your last picture of the Kornbrath brochure had Lefever Arms typed on it. For years I wondered if Lefever made a gun I had not heard of, but it finally became clear that Kornbrath must have sent the brochure to Lefever to solicit work.
