Once you strain out the splinters and boil them down real good it still tastes like sawdust to me!

Thats my deer tree in the "Woods."
Not much need for a scope as you can see.

That looks just like the legendary BeeZley tree...it'll make a tasty stump some day.

All the years I read "Ole Elmer" I cannot really recall him ever having a good word for the .357 Mag. I do vividly recall his statement made prior to the introduction of "His" .44 Mag, that if one were not a handloader the best handgun for a hunter was the .45 colt. If one was a handloader, the best was a .44 Special using his hot loads. Then available .45 Colt guns did not have enough wall over the chambers to be "HotRodded" so he deemed the .44 best for the purpose.

Us "Hillbillies" boil Sassafras to make tea, but we dig up the roots for that, don't use the stump.

A 255g 45Colt slug out of a 24 1/2" barrel is more than good enuff for the woods.
...and just look at all those extra bullets I can keep in that full length tube magazine - just right for poachers 'n trespassers in the days to follow.

on this rifle.
