Cabin Fever!

I'm stuck in the house, prone, healing my Achilles stenosis with my leg in a robo-boot on crutches for the first time in my life.

But seriously thanks for the pictures it gives me hope I'll be ready for next season soon!

Will I hear the howls from here? I'll open up the window and listen.

I got this 1970ish 32" Daly Miroku Superior Trap for a good price - the top barrel mainspring had broken early in it's life and the pad was mushed from Hoppe's and long storage. The wood and metal were in excellent shape. I replaced the mainspring thanks to Wisner's tool and spring, and put a new pad on it.

The pad job was the best I'd ever done. I removed the masking tape from the stock while patting myself on the back; what a skilled and wonderful gunfixer I be. About 3 square inches of epoxy finish remained on the tape. Strip and re-do.

I'm sure the gun's a hideous insult to the gentle eyes of the board, but it fits my lanky pencil-necked self like a glove and I like everything about it. The monte carlo and white line spacers have a certain joie du vie that appeals to me, and it has better dynamics than the 32" B'ways that I was trying on for size last year. The button on the side of the frame switches from ejector to extractor.

Yeti, I am sure the stock looks better now than before. Things happen for a reason :-)

Around 90 F here so my main cabin activity is rubbing stocks with my signature
slacum oil (own recipe mainly based on available ingredients). Warm and dry weather
(30/40% humidity) really hurries the process.

I've been trying to get this leather pad to come out looking half way decent on one of my Model 21s. Serial number 93. Still in about 99% condition except where some tyro cut the stock too short. Just the thickness of the pad looks like there is a gap between the pad and the stock. And the black plastic spacer doesn't look right along one side either. Never had this much trouble with a leather pad before. Must be the Mad Cow punchin' holes through my brain. You hear that? Yin-n-n-n-g-g-g-g-g!! There went another one...............Denny Crane

Thanks JayCee. I have them already. I have been doing them for some time now, but I sem to be having troubles with this one. I'll get it eventually. Thanks for the help. Good luck.
