I've been told Cabelas will dicker on price- I thought so too but I was in the new store in Hartford, CT a few days back and was told all gun prices are firm, no haggling.

Tom, Best news of 2008, for me, so far. I'm really glad it went to one of the posse' here.
I haven't been the same since I saw a Holland Royal on one of the cowboy boards-sporting 18" tubes, and missing about 6" of buttstock.
I'm pretty sure they don't come that way, usually.
Hey, Storms, sorry about your dog. I have been where you are, and will be there again-it's part of the deal with a dog's unconditional love, he makes sure another pooch gets to share some of your love for dogs by leaving before you would have him go.
Cabelas and I parted ways a few years past. Those that love 'em, can have 'em. Best, Ted

Congrats Tom, Few come along that nice. The guy really didn't respond well. His better late than never e-mail mentioned a crack in the forearm block on the barrel. Was that an issue with anyone else or is that an easy fix? Randy

Randy, it appears to be the solder has cracked on the forearm lug. If that is so then it is repairable. It may have been poorly repaired already. Looks kind of suspect. I had one on a Parker VHE repaired a few years ago and it was completely seperated. I had several other repairs and a reblue done at the same time so I do not know how to seperate the cost. I probably would not have had it repaired but it was a 16ga live bird gun with 34" barrels. Sort of rare.
Tom
