OP Tim Frazier Sidelock Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 386 North East Ohio	I picked up a very early Remington 17 with a 4 digit number and no barrel date. It's marked UMC as well both on the barrel and butt plate. The number is 51xx. Any Ideas on how to date it. Would Remington know if I called? Thanx Tim "Not all who wander are Lost" -Hoppie 14'
