Just keep in mind...when "the" bounce begins...it historically takes on average 6-8 weeks to unfold...Therefore even if we are in a severe secular bear you will have 4 weeks minimum to reallocate...(In other words we are much closer to the intermediate term low than high)

Very desireable things are still selling to the people who have such deep pockets that a downturn in the equities market is anticipated and no real threat to their wealth. Folks like this are waiting for those less fortunate to liquidate their high quality collectibles as pressures force a need for liquidity. The more the economy destabilizes the more bargains will be offered. In the coming months "cash is king." Items with inflated prices will stay on the shelf. Savvy sellers will put their best stuff back in the safe and bring out the things with a lot of sizzle that have very good margins and will look good in discount sales. My plan is to hold on to my cash and wait for something very very good.

I just had to know what an Italian re-sumpin or 'nother was. OK, I guess it's some statistically significant point in a rebound that you can pin some reasonable probability of success on if passed?

Playtime might be over for those who dabble in high condition, high end who dunits/brand Xers. Some guns will barely cling to their value - these can be used for plumbing.

Chuck,
Without going into detail...you obviously know exactly what is going on...
Should you have any interest in the subject, I will gladly refer you to a few of the most knowledgeable folks....
In the end...if you are nimble...this time period will give many folks a number of 1-3% trading opportunities...and those will likely result in the years return...

I imagine that the banning of all lead shot, when it finally happens, will have a much more dramatic effect on the price of old double guns than an economic down turn. That is the one that keeps me awake occasionally. Jake
