2-Piper; You're correct about the 235 being a hammer gun. I have one I'm restocking and frankly, even though the inards are crude, I like it.

Anybody think it's worth having the barrels reblued and the case colors redone on the one in the pictures? I was thinking about getting the Stevens Historian to tell me the manufacture date. Do you just send $15 to the address listed along with the ser# and a picture? No web-site? No phone#?
